Mission Statement
Our mission is….. to serve children, young adults, families and veterans in our community and world by providing resources, education, and opportunities for them to succeed.
We do this by engaging our community and partnering with nonprofit agencies and individuals, both locally and abroad that share the same focus and core values as our own.
Our areas of focus include impacting and enhancing the quality of lives of children, young adults, families and veterans that are in poverty, homeless, and/or abandoned in the Metro Atlanta Area and Haiti.
Our core values include:
Selfless – putting those we serve first
Excellence – serving people with the highest levels of quality
Respect – treating others with dignity and better than we expect to be treated ourselves
Virtuous – serving people with the highest standards of integrity, honesty, trustworthiness and genuineness
Empower – helping those we serve to succeed and thrive on their own
Our Vision
Matiak Foundation is a servant leader in the Cherokee County community, providing resources, education and opportunities for success. Through our innovative Workforce Training and Apprenticeship Programs, we’ll help grow the local workforce by training and connecting opportunity individuals and veterans with industries that need labor (manufacturing, construction, HVAC, plumbing & electrical).
Who we serve Locally:
- Matiak Foundation partners with local schools, agencies and nonprofit organizations to identify individuals that have mechanical aptitude and are not on a career pathway. Our target demographic is foster kids aging out of the system, youth who did not complete high school, at risk young adults in local schools, veterans reentering the workforce, the unemployed and the underemployed.
- Qualified participants begin learning employability skills that are sought after by employers.
- Once completing the employability skills course, participants can then be placed with one of our local industry partners or continue on in one of our skilled trade programs.
- We are an Accredited Training Unit providing the NCCER curriculum.
Who we serve in Haiti:
Matiak Foundation partners with New Missions, a nonprofit organization, who have been serving in Haiti since 1983. We will do this by:
- Engaging local community and business partners to collect school supplies, hygiene items, and toys for our annual shoebox drive.
- Financially supporting the education and medical care of children in Haiti through sponsorship. (we took off and encourage others to do so)
- Collecting sneakers in 2019
- Provide clean drinking water by financially supporting the buildout of new wells in 2019 and beyond.
